Summer is a time of revelry – for festivals, Pimms and partying late into the light nights. And this year, as I publish my third crime thriller, set in the stifling heat and electrical storms of July 2014, I’m looking forward to book launch parties in three British cities.
Most of us love to celebrate the start of something new – like a wedding, christening or coming of age – and writers are no different. As well as rejoicing at the chance to share new work with the world, I can’t wait to meet old friends and make new ones. Isn’t that what a party’s all about?
So are you ready? I can promise you wine, good conversation, a chance to network if you like, and above all, a great evening. Get your diaries out and join me at one or more of these free events, and bring your friends!
BRISTOL – the Bookshop Party, Monday 20th July 6-8pm. It’s at Foyles, Cabot Circus, and you can book free tickets here.
LONDON – the Tea Party, Sunday 26th July 3-5pm. Fizz, tea & cake at the Haggerston Tea Room, in hip Hackney. Book free tickets here.
BIRMINGHAM – the Glitzy Champagne Casino Party, Monday 24th August 6.30-8.15pm. Join me at the gaming tables afterwards! Free bets and tuition are on offer. Book free tickets here.
Before I forget – the book’s called The Bride’s Trail! When beautiful blonde croupier Kat disappears from her central London flat, her friends discover they’re not the only ones looking for her. As dangers multiply, so do the questions. How many men has Kat married for money? Why does a sinister knifeman want to kill her? Can her brother use the secret tunnels under central Birmingham to keep her safe?
Why not read The Gap, a short story introducing Kat and anti-hero Jeb? And please come along to a launch party to find out more!
